Course Overview

Have you ever watched a courtroom drama, read about a landmark judgment, or wondered what law actually is and how lawyers really work? Whether you are a school student curious about a legal career, a college student exploring your options, or simply someone who wants to understand the legal world before committing to it, this course is built exactly for you.

Introduction to Law is a beginner-friendly, video-based course that assumes you know nothing about law. We start from the very first question — what is law and why does society need it? — and gently build up, lesson by lesson, until you understand how the entire Indian legal system fits together. By the end you will know how courts, lawyers, the Constitution and legal procedures work, and you will have a clear, practical roadmap for actually becoming a lawyer or legal professional in India.

This is not a dry, jargon-heavy academic course. Every concept is explained using real-world Indian examples. The course is organised into 8 carefully sequenced modules that move from basic to advanced: the meaning of law, sources of law, the court system, the major branches of law, the Constitution of India, how a real case moves from filing to judgment, the legal profession and career pathways, and the essential skills, ethics and first steps every aspiring lawyer needs.

Each lesson follows a proven rhythm: a hook, a clear explanation with visuals, relatable examples, a short recap, and a small exercise. Every module ends with a quiz and practical, research and discussion assignments, plus downloadable notes, mind maps, flowcharts and revision sheets. Everything is taught in the Indian legal context — our courts, our Constitution, our codes (including the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and our path to becoming an advocate.

No prior legal knowledge is required. Just curiosity and a willingness to learn. Press play on Lesson 1 and take your first confident step into the world of law.

  • Module-wise PDF lecture notes (8 modules) and a 100+ term glossary.
  • Mind maps, flowcharts and checklists.
