CPC 1908 · s.2(7A) & 2(7B)
The territorial definitions
Two map-drawing clauses — “High Court” for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and “India” for the Code. Both were added by a single 1951 Central amendment.
Both clauses were inserted by Act 2 of 1951, s.4 — a Central (Union) amendment made when the Code was extended to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. They are territorial definitions (they fix places), not conceptual ones — cousins of the locality rules in s.1(3) and s.1(4).
