Section 70 [Repealed] — Rules of Procedure

Repealed
CPC, 1908 · Part II · Execution

Rules of Procedure — Section 70 [Repealed]

This section is no longer in force. It belonged to the old Collector-execution machinery and dealt with the rules of procedure for it; the same 1956 amendment repealed it.

§ 70
[ Repealed ]
Section 70 carries no operative text today
Former marginal heading: Rules of Procedure.
Repealed by s. 7 of the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Act, 1956 (66 of 1956) — the same provision (“ibid”) that repealed §§ 68 and 69.
In short

Section 70 was another piece of the Collector-execution group (§§ 68–72): it concerned the rules of procedure governing the execution of decrees handed to the Collector under the now-repealed Third Schedule. When the Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Act, 1956 dismantled that scheme, s. 7 of that Act repealed § 70 together with §§ 68 and 69.
